How To Super-Clean Your Toilet!

A few tips for deep cleaning the loo (Glyn’s idea)
Occasionally, it’s important to do a deeper clean of your toilet. Here’s how I do it:
1. Remove the cover (tank lid) and using white vinegar pour it in to about an inch from the top of the tank. Now it gets a little trickier, turn the water off at the valve and put the lid back on – you will return to this later.
2. Now it’s time for the bathroom cleaning product…Use one of your choice in the toilet bowl, remember to be generous under the rim and don’t scrub yet.
3. Using kitchen towels, an old toothbrush, and your cleaning product, wipe down the top and bottom of the seat lid and the seat, remember to give this a good scrub
4. Now remove the entire toilet seat (If it sounds over the top sorry, but it is the toilet) It’s easier to clean while it’s still attached to the toilet – and clean the bottom of the hinges. Wipe down the outside of the tank, bowl, and base, now using the toothbrush clean the screw holes where the seat attaches.
5. Using a wet cloth with your cleaning product wipe between the tank and the bowl. As this is a deep clean make sure to hit every nook and cranny of the base.
6. Clean the inside of the toilet bowl with a brush. Make sure to get under the rim. Now flush, keeping in mind you turned the water off so the tank won’t refill.
7. Lift the tank lid off again and scrub the inside with the toothbrush – the vinegar will have loosened the build-up. Turn the water back on and flush a couple of times.
Stand back, have a look and give yourself a pat on the back…You have accomplished something and you won’t have to do again for a while.
